The Texas Hill Country is full of many amazing things, but the array of beautiful wedding venues, such as The Preserve at Canyon Lake, may just be one of my favorite things about it. I may be a little biased in saying that as a wedding photographer, but I just never get tired of the beautiful places I get to capture my couples saying ‘I do’ at!
Shelby + Dillon’s Wedding Day at The Preserve at Canyon Lake
Shelby and Dillon’s wedding day was my first time at The Preserve and it did not disappoint. It was so fun to be back with some of my former Aggie classmates (gig’em!) and see them say ‘I do’! The space at they have have created here is amazing and the perfect blank slate for any wedding vibe. The venue includes a chapel, grand ballroom, outdoor patio and plenty of outdoor space along the lake for pictures. It’s truly a photographer’s dream space to shoot!
Summer Wedding Inspiration
The classic blue touches of this summer wedding were perfect to compliment the space. Shelby had them sprinkled in throughout her florals and had the bridesmaids in a coordinating blue dress.
I also can’t help but highlight the flower girls’ shoes. Not only were the girls more comfortable, but the pop of blue was so cute with their dresses!
Furry Friends on Your Wedding Day
At High Pines Media, we are big fans of including your furry friends on your wedding day. There are so many ways to make them part of your day and it doesn’t have to just be having them there. Shelby and Dillon included their sweet pups by having figurines on their cake and specialty drinks named after them.
Beer Burros at Cocktail Hour
Nothing says Texas like an iced cold beer. But a beer delivered by burros during cocktail hour? I love that this has become a trend amongst weddings here in the Hill Country! It’s always a hit with guests.
Including Loved Ones That Have Passed
It can be difficult to go through your wedding day when people who are special in your life have passed. But it is always so sweet to see how people keep in their day. And I love being able to capture it for my couples!
Shelby had her moms wedding portrait framed and with her in a few photos and also left a reserved spot for her in the ceremony. I love little touches like this that are unique to each of my couples.
